Samsung to Rollout Official Android 8 Oreo Update to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Smartphones by Mid May
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge might finally be getting the long awaited Android 8.0 Oreo update. According to a report by a Turkish website which is been handled by Samsung, the roll out of the Oreo update will kick off in Mid May of this year.
Samsung has also posted the notice on the members app which is targeted at Korean users. According to the post, Samsung confirms plans to release Android Oreo updates for a number of Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones.
Samsung says it's trying it's best to kick off the Oreo update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge by Mid May, unless there is any major issue with the final build which might lead to further delay.
Aside the Galaxy S7 series, other Samsung devices that are expected to receive the Android 8 Oreo update before the second quarter of the year runs out includes the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017), and Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (LTE, WiFi).
