Xiaomi has shipped over 100 million smartphones in India in five years, will soon let users disable system ads

Xiaomi is currently one of the top five smartphone manufacturers in the world, trailing behind brands like Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi. Xiaomi success is mainly due to the company's affordable smartphone series.

Even though Samsung is the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, it has dropped to the second place in India, making Xiaomi the highest selling smartphone manufacturer in the country.

Xiaomi just recently took to its official Twitter account to announce its latest milestone. According to the tweet, the company has sold over 100 million smartphones in India with most of the sales coming from the Redmi Note series as well as the entry level A series.

Aside that, the company has also announced that it will soon allow users to manually disable ads in the system apps like the calendaer, app installer etc. The update with this feature will be rolled out soon.
