Many of you have most likely been in a situation where you either misplaced your ATM card, lost your phone or got your bank account compromised in other ways. Normally, the first thing that comes to mind is to get the account temporarily locked until the issue is resolved.

Locking your bank account requires you to either visit the bank to fill a form or call the customer care center and answer a series of questions, but before you complete any of this two process, there are chances your account balance has been wiped already. So gtbank has decided to introduce a new simple and straightforward procedure to lock your bank account from any phone.

Gtbank has now added a new option to its 737 service which will allow customers remotely lock their bank account from any phone number. This is a very simple yet life saving feature as customers won't have to wait in line again to get this done.

How to lock / block your Gtbank account with *737*

• Dial *737*51*74# on any mobile number in Nigeria.
• You will be required to provide the phone number you registered with your bank account.
• You will also be required to provide your 737 pin
• You bank account will then be locked and all transfers as well as debit transactions will be restricted

How to unlock your gtbank account

• To unlock your gtbank account again, call gtconnect, gtbank contact care center or visit any gtbank branch.
