OnePlus Resumes Rollout of the OxygenOS 5.0.1 Base on Android 8.0 Oreo for OnePlus 5 Users
Just few days after Christmas of 2017, OnePlus rolled out the OxygenOS 5.0 which was based on Android 8.0 Oreo. This was OnePlus's Christmas gift to OnePlus 5 users but the update was later halted after a bug was discovered which cause issues with third-party camera application.
OnePlus later issued a statement that it was working on a fix for the bug. Now it looks like everything is done as OnePlus resumes rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for OnePlus 5 users, but instead of the previous OxygenOS 5.0, the latest update is the version 5.0.1 which fixes the earlier bug on the previous version.
If you updated your device before the update was pulled down or you haven't updated yet, then you can do so now as the new OxygenOS 5.0.1 contains all the changes of the first build and the necessary fixes. Note that the update is rolling out in batches so it might take time before it finally gets to all users.
