Xiaomi Mi A1 now Receiving Android 8.0 Oreo Beta Update with Quick Charge Support

The Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched just about 4 months ago but the device has already started receiving the closed beta Oreo update. That's one of the beauty of stock android OS, aside the fact that it's smooth without any bloatware, there isn't much tweaking going on so it's more faster and easier for manufacturers to port the latest OS on it.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 android Oreo beta program is currently open to a few selected users and the update comes with some new features and improvements such as the quick settings revamp, settings app redesign, Picture-in-Picture mode, smart text selection and many others.

The app load time has also significantly increased, and the animations are a lot better on the Oreo update. The main highlight of the Android 8.0 Oreo update on the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the new fast charge support. The Xiaomi Mi A1 now charges from Zero to 100 percent in just about 92 minutes compared to the 2 hours it takes to charge on Nougat. Note that the charge test was conducted with the OnePlus 5t Dash charger and not the Xiaomi Mi A1 bundled charger.

At the moment, there is still no word yet as to when Xiaomi will release the stable android 8 Oreo update for Xiaomi Mi A1 users but we expect it to be pretty soon.
