OnePlus 2 Won't be Receiving the Nougat Update as OnePlus Discontinues Software Update for the Device

While OnePlus has been releasing updates for its high end phones which are the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, the midrange smartphones which are the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X has actually been left behind.

This led to a campaign by the OnePlus midrange phone owners with the hopes that the Chinese brand will listen to their plea and give them a Nougat update but this didn't work as both phones are still stuck on Android 6 marshmallow.

Now, OnePlus has just released an official statement which confirms that the OnePlus 2 will not be receiving the Nougat update as software support has been discontinued for the device.

"Thank you for reaching OnePlus Customer support.This is Alex from OnePlus. We greatly appreciate your time and effort in reaching out to us. Your concern is of utmost importance, and I will be helping you out with your ticket. As much as we would like to give the latest update on the OnePlus 2, we've discontinued updates for dated devices.But we will continue to support the limited warranty for current users and provide updates and support the best way we can even for OnePlus 2 users."

Although this announcement is specifically for the OnePlus 2 users, I don't really think there is much hope for the OnePlus X users either.
