Google Duo now gets dark theme feature

Dark mode seems to be the must have feature for apps in 2019. Google has already rolled out dark mode for most of its core apps like Google drive, Google photos, calendar, playstore, Gmail, Google Assistant and many more.

Now, the Google Duo App is the latest app from Google to get the dark mode feature. Google Duo is a social app mainly for making video calls, in some countries you can use the app to make a group video call of up to 4 people at a time. The app also let's you record and send video as well as audio messages.

Just like other Google apps that have received the dark mode feature, you will get 3 options which are light mode: this is the default mode which displays black text over a white background, dark mode: this will display white text over a black or grey background, this will help preserve your eyes and it will also save battery on Amoled displays. The third option is system default: this will display in either light or dark mode depending on your phones default system wide settings.

To try out the new feature, make sure you are on the latest version of Google Duo, then launch the App. Tap on the three dots at the top right corner to access the menu, click on settings >> choose themes. This feature is a server side update but you will only receive it if you are on the Version 64 or higher.
