All HMD Global Nokia Android Smartphones Confirmed to Receive the Android 9 Pie Update

The Android 9 Pie is still pretty new and at the moment only the Pixel phones and Essential phone users have received the official update so far. However some other manufacturers like HMD Global, Xiaomi, Sony, Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus have released public beta version of the Android 9 Pie for their selected phones.

HMD Global announced its first set of Nokia Android smartphones at WMC2017 and the company promised back then that all its smartphones will receive at least 2 years of Android updates. Now HMD has just assured all its users Via it's twitter page that all Nokia Android phones released till date will receive the official Android 9 Pie update.

This means that the low end Nokia 1 up to the premium Nokia 8 Sirocco will all receive the Android 9 update. Below is the full list of all the HMD Global's Nokia smartphones expected to receive the Android 9.0 Pie update sometime in the future.

No official rollout date was mentioned but HMD stated that the update rollout will be phased. We however expect the Nokia 7 Plus to be the first on the list to receive the update since it was the only Nokia smartphone enrolled in the developer preview program. That may be followed by the high-end Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco.
