Official List of Windows phones that will receive the Microsoft Windows 10 Fall Creators update

Microsoft is planning to roll out the Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update (Version 1709) and it will only be available to a few windows 10 powered smartphones. 
Today, Microsoft has officially released the list of devices that will be receiving the update, this includes mostly devices of 2016 or newer.  The Microsoft Lumia 640 and Microsoft Lumia 640 XL which were both released in 2015 didn't make it to the list.

Some of the devices that made it to the list includes the HP Elite x3 (including versions for Verizon and Telstra), the Microsoft Lumia 950, Microsoft Lumia 950 XL and a few others. Below is the full list of devices that will receive the Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update:
> HP Elite x3.
> HP Elite x3 (Verizon).
> HP Elite x3 (Telstra).
> Wileyfox Pro.
> Microsoft Lumia 550.
> Microsoft Lumia 650.
> Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL.
> Alcatel IDOL 4S.
> Alcatel IDOL 4S Pro.
> Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL.
> Softbank 503LV.
 > VAIO Phone Biz.
> MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601.
> Trinity NuAns Neo.

Before you download and install the update, make sure that your smartphone is running Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 QFE8 or later. Also, since the file is about 1.4GB, you will be required to connect to a WiFi network to download it. You might also be required to free up some space on your internal storage if the free space is not sufficient for the update file.
  
Some of the changes and improvements in this new update includes the latest emoji from Unicode, Two Factor Authentication to help make enterprise owned handsets more secure, and a number of bug fixes.
