New Instagram Update Features Boomerang mode, Mentions, Links And More

Just few months after introducing "stories", Instagram has just added new tools in its latest update which are "boomerang" and mention". This new features were introduced mainly to make Instagram story a lot more exciting.

With the new boomerang feature, Instagram users can now take a boomerang inside the app by Just swiping right from the feed to open the stories camera. A new format picker has also been added under the record button which will allow users to select the “Boomerang” mode. 

Once you have selected the new mode, just tap on record and the camera will stitch together a burst of photos into a mini video that plays forward and backward, just like a GIF.

The new "mention" feature works almost the same way captions and comments works on post. Now you can share moments with those you like by mentioning them in the story.

If anyone mentions you in a story, you will get get the notification in direct. However if someone you don't follow mentions you, then the notifications will appear in message requests.

The new Instagram update also adds “See More” links at the bottom of some stories, so if you want to browse more stories you can tap on those links.

The latest update is currently available on the App Store, Google Play store, and Windows Store for Windows 10.
