OnePlus 6T officially confirmed to feature in-screen fingerprint reader

About a week ago, an alleged box of the OnePlus 6T was leaked online hinting that the device might come with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. OnePlus has further confirmed this by posting a screenshot of the lockscreen of the upcoming device.

This will make the OnePlus 6T the first device from the company to feature an in-screen fingerprint reader. OnePlus also mentions that the Face unlock will still be available as an option.

According to a statement by OnePlus, it reads;

"We unlock our phones multiple times a day, and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action,"

It other for OnePlus to place the new fingerprint reader behind the display panel, the internal hardware of the phone had to be rearranged and the phone will be 0.45mm thicker than the current OnePlus 6.
